Our History
Monro was founded in 1985 with a vision to bring premium, design-led packaging to the retail world—combining creativity, service, and global sourcing expertise. What began as a small, focused operation quickly gained momentum as our commitment to quality and long-term partnerships started to shape the company’s future.
In 2025, Monro proudly celebrates 40 years of delivering exceptional packaging solutions. From its founding in 1985, the company has grown into a trusted and innovative partner for beauty, skincare, fragrance, and retail brands. This milestone reflects four decades of craftsmanship, design innovation, and a commitment to sustainable, high-quality packaging — setting the stage for even greater achievements in the years ahead.
The year 2019 was transformational for the company. In March, it completed the acquisition of Absolute Group, expanding capacity and capabilities. Shortly after, an on-site Design Studio was launched, offering clients rapid prototyping and direct access to the creative team. In September, the Switzerland office opened, strengthening presence in Central Europe and enhancing service delivery across the region.
The Cosmetic Division was launched, further diversifying offerings to serve the growing beauty and wellness industry. That same year, turnover exceeded £20 million, marking another major milestone in the company’s continued evolution.
With momentum building, 2013 marked the opening of our Paris office, a strategic step to better serve our European client base and expand cross-border operations.
Our turnover surpassed £10 million (€11.4M) for the first time, highlighting a decade of consistent growth and service-led expansion.
A year later, in 2007, the company signed an exclusive European supply agreement with Hangerlogic, enhancing its product offering in the apparel and presentation space.
We relocated to a purpose-built warehouse in the heart of the UK—designed to support increasing demand, storage needs, and efficient logistics.
The success of the collaboration led to the company being appointed to supply all Nike EMEA stores. This expansion confirmed its capability to manage complex, multi-market rollouts across Europe while maintaining the quality, consistency, and brand precision that global retailers rely on.
We began a significant partnership with Nike UK, marking the start of a long-standing relationship with one of the world’s most iconic brands. This milestone not only elevated Monro’s profile in the retail packaging space but also demonstrated our ability to meet the demands of large-scale, fast-moving retail environments.
We laid the foundations for international growth by establishing supply agreements with trusted Chinese manufacturing partners—partnerships that remain vital to our global sourcing network today.
The company celebrated its first major financial milestone, with turnover reaching £1 million — a clear reflection of growing trust from clients.
